ONE KEY THING TO KNOW BEFORE TOSSE 2022

Whether you a teacher, consultant, a business owner, a sales representative, a worker in a start-up or maybe you are just a stakeholder in the education sector who just wants to attend the Total School Support Seminar/Exhibition for the experience, then this post is for you.

I know most people are busy and you need to get on to other businesses or you are probably preparing your materials for TOSSE 2022, so this post won’t take more than 2-3 minutes of your time.

You are reading this because you want to know that important thing before you attend TOSSE 2022. So here it goes: “TOSSE IS THE MARKETPLACE”.

“Is that all?” you say.

Well, yes. But there is more.

You see, TOSSE is not just any marketplace, like any platform you have ever been to, TOSSE is ‘THE MARKETPLACE’.

From the man in the suit who looks like an ordinary fellow but is the director of a major firm, to the Commissioner of Education talking to an exhibitor, to the chairman of a top school in Lagos looking for a new distributor for his school, TOSSE is the gathering of some of the biggest decision makers in the education industry.

Now, here is the aim of this post which is ‘TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OPPORTUNITY AT TOSSE 2022’.

An event like this comes seasonally and you may never get this opportunity again till next year and the testimonies of individuals who have gotten their big breaks from past TOSSE editions are all over the place.

From the lady who attended a TOSSE seminar as a regular attendee years ago but has now grown because of that encounter to be one of this year’s speakers, to the organizations that have struck multi-million naira deals from prospects they met at TOSSE, the list is endless.

This is the reason why some individuals, companies, schools and other organizations keep attending TOSSE yearly.

For this year’s edition, we advice that you wear your best, come prepared and ready to meet and network with thousands of other attendees. You never can tell who your big break will come from.

Make sure you open yourself up to meet and build new connections, grow your network and increase your capacity as an individual or organization.

Have a wonderful TOSSE 2022 experience!

AvoPizza Fabulous: A new pizza home in Arepo

Before 2012, pizzas were a foreign concept in Nigeria but today we have over 15 different pizza companies in Nigeria.

However, most of these food companies tend to open their pizza shops in major cities like Lagos, Abuja and so on.

*Avo pizza Fabulous enters the scene.

While others went to state capitals and major areas across Nigeria, and that meant that people in other states only had to wait till they visited such places before they could enjoy the pizzas, Avo pizza Fabulous chose to bring the delicious delight of well-baked pizzas to Arepo in Ogun state.

AvoPizza Fabulous also chose to expand their production and sales to other refreshment and sumptuous food consumables like Ice Cream, Chicken and Chips, and bread made in an exclusively hygiene environment and in line with Global Standard on Health and Safety.

The station has now become home to schools, families, organizations and individuals who want to enjoy the delight of pizzas and other food consumables.

As an organization seeking to also use its name to impact the education sector, AvoPizza Fabulous has organized English and mathematics quiz competitions in a bid to also help and engage students academically.

Furthermore, AvoPizza Fabulous have partnered with the organisers of the Total School Support Seminar/Exhibition (TOSSE) in a bid to continue to support the education sector.

The exhibition is set to hold on the 1st and 2nd of September 2022 in Lagos. To register for the event, click here.

How Mouka has been impacting the Nigerian education sector

With studies revealing that longer sleep duration, better sleep quality and greater sleep consistency improves academic performance, sleep products have become a necessity for students after their daily activities.

Mouka Limited, a beacon in the sleep products industry have been taking giant strides to ensure that parents and students all across Nigeria are getting all as much educational support as possible.

Another research also shows that students who sleep well are more ‘likely to develop innovative ways of solving complex issues mathematically than those with sleep deprivation’.

Based on these research works and many more, which have made the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy encourage students to prioritize quality sleep, Mouka has continued to manufacture products to aid this cause.

Furthermore, as part of the company’s 5th CSR pillar called “Skills For Life”, Mouka birthed the Award for excellence initiative in 2020 to recognise and promote academic excellence while advocating the role of quality sleep in the equation.

To this end, Mouka recognised and rewarded the best graduating students from all faculties of the Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja, with cash grants at the school’s convocation ceremony held recently.

Earlier this year also, Mouka rewarded its Business Partners with over N111,000,000 worth of scholarships, high-end laptops and educational materials for their children. In addition, 15 junior staff of Mouka went home with scholarships to the tune of N5,000,000 as an act of goodwill from the company.

Mouka has not relented in its bid to promote academic excellence while advocating the role of quality sleep, as they have now partnered with the organizers of the Total School Support Seminar/Exhibition (TOSSE) which is Africa’s biggest education show to continue to support the education community in Nigeria.

Mouka Limited is one organization whose impact has been felt even outside its own industry, into the education sector.

How NewGlobe is transforming education systems in Nigeria

NewGlobe was founded in 2007 and opened its first station in Kenya in 2009, opening community schools in the majority of Kenya’s counties, and becoming recognized globally for the Bridge International Academies model.

NewGlobe has supported urgent education transformation for well over a decade. Its broad portfolio of programmes span Africa and Asia. Its model provides a turnkey end to end solution using cloud based technology and advanced pedagogical research that drives rapid improvements across entire education systems, dramatically improving learning outcomes for all students.

A decade of national exam results; independent studies and randomized control trials have proven the efficacy of an approach focussed on improving the development path of communities, states and nations.

NewGlobe has been keen on transforming education systems in Nigeria and have made giant strides in transforming community education across some Nigerian states.

uLesson: Revolutionalizing the education sector

uLesson is an edtech startup that leverages best in class teachers, media, and technology to create high-quality, affordable and accessible education for African students.

Founded by Sim Shagaya in 2019, uLesson is now regarded as a leader in the African home-tutoring business. uLesson is available in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, The Gambia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Africa, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Sim Shagaya, uLesson founder

The uLesson app has more than 2 million downloads, with more than 12.3 million videos watched and 25.6 million questions answered on the platform.

The edtech startup is focused on delivering affordable, high-quality and accessible education using technology. Speaking in 2021, Sim Shagaya stated how the startup is deliberately looking to design products that will meet the demanded needs of users across Africa.

uLesson is viewed as the startup aimed at revolutionalising the education sector in Nigeria and Africa as a continent.

The platform currently combines the possibility to stream its classes in-app with the choice to receive those lessons on SD cards. This dual option is one big solution to the problem of frequently-unstable and comparatively costly data packages which parents usually complain of.

uLesson helps lower class African parents access world-class curriculum-based schooling that could either work alongside the day school or totally become the tutor to prepare their children for top-level exams.

Looking to gain more ground, The edtech startup has partnered with the organizers of Africa’s biggest education show, TOSSE to be the headline sponsor of the 14th edition of the event holding in September 2022.

Finnpartnership

Finnpartnership: Business partnerships for a better world

According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report, Finland has the world’s best-developed education system in the world. Hence, any educational program from the country is one to be held in the highest regard.

Finnpartnership is a business partnership programme financed by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and managed by Finnfund. Finnpartnership aims to generate positive development impacts by promoting business between Finland and developing countries.

Societal functionality and development ultimately depend on how citizens, companies and societal operators are able to make society function. Finnpartnership activities aim to accelerate this development.

In practice, Finnpartnership promotes business activities and partnerships with the aim of generating positive development impacts in the target country. As the business to be promoted must also be profitable and responsible, the activities ideally create a cycle that reinforces positive development.

The main services are Business Partnership Support and Matchmaking

In many ways, developing countries are different operating environments from those Finnish companies are accustomed to. In addition, the conditions between countries and within them can vary greatly.

There are usually more questions than answers when visiting a foreign country for the first time. Finnpartnership offers funding, contacts and advisory services, which can be used to assess business opportunities in developing countries.

Business Support Partnership is financial assistance for researching business opportunities. Match-making connects operators in Finland and developing countries with one another. The services are intended for companies, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations and other operators.

Team Finland assembles all of Finland’s state-funded internationalisation services in a single place. Through Team Finland, you are able to obtain information on markets and their risks, funding for internationalisation, opportunities to participate in missions promoting exports, and contacts, information and advisory services.

Team Finland will be at the Total School Support Seminar/Exhibition (TOSSE) set to hold on the 1st and 2nd of September in Lagos, Nigeria, to help as many institutions as possible through its solutions to help develop their system. Click here to register for the event.
